how do I build battery operated flickering candles?
I have a Halloween Party for my kids this Friday, Years ago I saw some battery operated flickering candles using a AA battery inside a 1/2 or 3/4 in PVC pipe which was painted to resemble a candle. It was then placed in a standard candle holder. Some times these are used on stage.
I know these can be bought, but I also know they can be built by a DIYer…
…So anyone know how to build one of these. I have good soldering skills so don’t hold out for fear I can’t do that.
I’ve never tried to build one like you want but it would seem you would need some kind of battery holder so you wouldn’t have to solder wires directly to the dry cell and a low voltage flasher similar to a Christmas light flasher between the battery and bulb. A switch would be optional since you could just take the battery out to shut it off. You can probably find the components you need at a hobby or Radioshack type store. I’d like to know how it works out.
